I am proud to be part of a third generation farming family in Orange County. My grandfather, James Manassero, came to Orange County via Italy and began farming here in 1922.

During high school and college I started working for my father Steve Manassero Sr. and my uncle Emille Boisseranc Jr. At that time they were farming under the name Boisseranc-Manassero.

In 1976 my brother, Steve, and I started farming under the name Manassero Farms. Although my brother went out on his own years ago, I am happy to be celebrating 35 years in business and farming under the name – The Original Manassero Farms

We will be gleaning this Saturday at the Great Park in Irvine for green beans and if you are in the area

make sure to contact us at gleaningfarmland@gmail.com to volunteer.

President of L&F x10 and Christian Rapper Gabriel Reyes A.K.A (Dacode)

Posted on 24 October 2012 by robertflournoy

Yes! I will do it says the President of L&F x10.

The president said he was not expecting Gabriel Reyes to ask him if he would want to be on his C.D

Outspoken after a Bible study they attended in Santa Ana. It was kind of a shock considering Gabriel

new that he really didn’t like Christian Rap nevertheless he agreed because he knew the heart of this

young man after seeing him in the studies and listening to him talk about the community.

These three pictures were taken at Iglesia De La Comunidad the day we ministered…

Not being on any praise team for some years this night felt at home for the

President especially when he heard himself clear over the speakers and water that

he felt flow from within himself. Destiny Church in Indio was another exciting day

when Dacode and the President went down to Minister to the youth. It brought back memories and it reminded him that we must work on the youth because they are

in need of guidance and they are our future.

Lyrics…
No one understands me like the way you do
Tu me ves in a whole different point of view
Y por la costas siento tu espiritu
En las cosas dificiles you always come and pull me through
Para siempre I will show you gratitude
Me has dado amor y gracia en plentitud
Thank you for the intimacy
And for the fact that you’ve seen what others can’t see
You fill my heart’s vacancy
Better than any drug dependency
Quiero tomar este tiempo to tell you explicitly lo que yo siento
you never left me cuando estaba enfermo
You healed me con tu poder eterno
La belleza de tu amor has captured my soul and
That’s why I call you mi buen pastor

Hook: Hellen and Robert
Define every word
And show everything
Help me understand
What you want me to know

Verse 2: Da Code
Un processo largo
From a foe to a servant,
From a servant to a friend
You made me your son at the very end
Como puede ser, I can’t comprehend
Tu me hablas con intimidad
And you’ve reached me en mi ciudad
You’ve showed me mas que Amistad
You never hold back and give la mitad
Knock on my door so we can dine
The knowledge that you give me is so divine
No importa el tiempo para mi siempre is fine
Tu compañía is one of a kind
Las cosas que me dices nadie me puede contar
The works that you do son mas grandes que el mar
Under your shadow is donde quiero estar
What you’ve done to me nadie lo puede cambiar

Update for 10/15/12-10/20/12

Posted on 21 October 2012 by robertflournoy

We still keep plugging at it with Donating donations to Food Banks ,Food Pantries and Organizations

like “Giving Children Hope” who gives Back Packs to Homeless Children. G.C.H puts the fresh produce

in the kids back pack.

GIVING CHILDREN HOPE…

We’ve Got Your Back is a weekend nutrition program created by Giving Children Hope for students in the Orange County Unified School District who have been identified as homeless under the McKinney-Vento act.

These children also take part in the free and reduced lunch program at their schools. For most of these children, the school cafeteria is their primary source of nutrition. Many return home on Friday to a household without food. This is where Giving Children Hope and the Orange County Unified School District partner together to alleviate hunger among our children in Orange County.

Giving Children Hope distributes backpacks weekly to elementary schools. There, a site coordinator distributes each backpack confidentially to every student in the program. This continues throughout the entire school year. The program is presented to the children as a Weekend Nutrition Club, instead of the “We’ve Got Your Back” program. Our first priority is to maintain and uphold the dignity and self-esteem of the children. Students in the weekend nutrition club will receive a weekly activity sheet that will pertain to nutrition. This activity sheet is returned every week in each backpack and is the students’ responsibility. Children who return their activity sheets will be rewarded. With the assistance of a school site coordinator from your school, the distribution of backpacks and the collection of empty ones can be facilitated in a simple and time efficient manner.

With the rise of Diabetes in our kids today fresh produce is the way to help our kids eat more Healthy

and Donating to programs like this is the way we help do our part. We also received Donations back

from “Children Giving Hope” to give to our Organizations we serve…

“Hands Of Mercy Encounter received its weekly Donations from the Farm…

Photo

While the President was waiting to pick up his Donations from the Farm he decided to pick some green

beans for his mothers Sunday Dinner…

Photo: While waiting for more Zucchini I picked beans for my mom.

The day ended by Donating to a Santa Ana Food Bank…

We have been very blessed this year with so many Donations and we like to thank our Donors

December 7th Christmas Distribution at Irvine Valley College…

Posted on 20 October 2012 by robertflournoy

Christmas is approaching and we are preparing to give away 50 Boxes with Ham or Turkey and the sides

to our low income students and out Vets. It is our desire to help them this year as Christmas is all about

giving.

Irvine Valley College has about 400 veteran students enrolled and we expect that as the wars in the middle east wind down,  many more will find their way to our campus. These individuals are facing many challenges as they make the transition from military life to educational endeavors. Many face the hardships of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), lack of housing, funding for the basic needs, employment, child care and family health services. In spite of it all, these young men and women are dedicated to achieving their goal of higher education and providing a better life for themselves and their families.

Dear Concerned Business Owner,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Extended Opportunity Programs and Services within the California Community College system. This Program serves very low income, educationally disadvantaged state residents of California that are registered as full time students. A subset of EOPS is the CARE Program serving single parents with children under age 14 who receive Welfare assistance. For comparison’s sake, Irvine Valley College serves around 16,000 students and EOPS is funded to serve only 429 students. With our limited funding, EOPS provides required textbooks, personalized counseling among lots of other services. My job is to help those at risk students with their various applications and explain the programs that would be available to help these at risk students come to school and succeed in their educational endeavors.

Your donation will help a struggling student who’s only desire is to graduate from College with a Christmas

Dinner…All Donations are Tax Deductible. If you would like to support this event you can contact us

at loavesandfishesx10@yahoo.com or call 714-718-293o.

Thank you.

OKAY! Where do I start with how the day went? Like any other day volunteers came out

ready to glean green beans Manassero  Donated to L&F x10 to help feed the Community in Orange

County. They came from Saddleback Church Food Pantry,Irvine Valley College and the Community

in general because they care that people like them will have food on their table.

One volunteer from Irvine Valley College Baseball team and Soccer team came out.

Circle K Club and the Latin Club also from Irvine Valley College came out today…

But they weren’t done because we had a little surprise for the men who came out and it was the same

surprise Manassero gave the Ministry…WATERMELONS AND CANTALOUP and not just a few but

you could say 12 Gaylord worth.

Volunteers along with the President picked about 90% of the watermelons…

Most volunteers left after they gleaned for the two hours but some stayed to help with the watermelons

because there were so many. These volunteers came thinking they were only coming for greenbeans

but seen how good God is and also the generosity of Manassero…12 Gaylords on there way to Santa Ana.

IVC President Glenn Roquemore

From the President of Irvine Valley College Open Door Letter…

Posted on 02 October 2012 by robertflournoy

Campus Profiles: Meet The People Who Are IVC: Staff Member Robert Flournoy Launches Campus Food

IVC President Glenn Roquemore

Facilities and Maintenance staffer Robert Flournoy wants to ensure that there are no IVC students going hungry while they complete their studies at our college. He has recently launched a food drive/food distribution program on regularly scheduled Fridays to make sure this doesn’t happen.

With the enthusiastic support and donations from many campus and community individuals and organizations, Robert and a group of hard-working volunteers from the President’s Office, Classified Senate, the Veterans Office, the Counseling Office, the Athletics Department, the Foundation Office, the Financial Aid Office, EOPS, Facilities and Maintenance Department and the Police Department, recently distributed over 60 pounds of food per recipient, including staples, frozen items, meat, bakery goods and freshly picked fruits and vegetables to 18 student veterans and 22 EOPS students and their families. For those recipients who usually ride the bus to school, transportation was provided back to their homes for them and their boxes of food, courtesy of Beep Colclough and EOPS.

Dennis Gordon, Pres. Roquemore & Police Chief Will GlenAs the holidays are an especially difficult time, Robert and food drive co-coordinator Vince Cooper want to remind all IVC faculty, staff, managers and administrators that there will be another food drive/distribution event before our winter holiday break. In addition to needing volunteers to help set up and distribute food boxes on the Friday of the event, food donations are greatly needed and much appreciated.

Food items needed include: peanut butter, jam, rice, canned meats, canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned stews and soups, crackers, etc. These items can be dropped off at the Veterans Office or Financial Aid any time before the event. On the Friday of the event, food donations can be dropped off at 10 am outside PE 100 (the Fitness Center). Specific details, including date and time of the next event, will be announced in a couple of weeks, says Robert.

Handing out donated food packages.

These campus food drives are a joint effort by Robert’s food ministry, loavesandfishesx10, Second Harvest Food Bank, Vineyard Community Church Food Bank, the Original Manassero Farms and Irvine Valley College. Robert has also teamed up with Dan Manassero of the Original Manassero Farms to glean the fields around IVC and in the fields around the OC Great Park for the fresh fruit and vegetables left over after the Manassero farm workers have harvested each crop. Robert has a gleaning event coming up on Saturday, October 6 from 9 to 11, and welcomes any and all volunteers. Families and student groups are welcome. All food gleaned will go to local food banks.

Call Robert for more information at 714.718.2930 or email him at gleaningfarmland@gmail.com. His
