We have 2 Distributions this week/Harvesting Oranges

Posted on 29 February 2012 by robertflournoy

The weeks seem to feel long when we are preparing to Distribute food in the

Community to help support families with enough food to help them through the

week. Two weeks ago we served 20 families in Santa Ana with the support of

some of our friends. This was an Evangelical event that turned out as always exciting

and filled with anticipation to see what will happen when the spirit of God is movimg.

This is an area the President has been watering for some years with prayer and

Distribution of f00d and in fact he did his first Outreach in the same neighborhood

13 years ago under the name resurrectionministry.llc where his first turn out was 250

families or 1,000 served.

This coming Thursday will be a non Evangelical event designed to reach families who

have lready been told about the Distribution and Saturday will be more of a surprise

for a group of families. One thing for sure the demand is greater than the supply these

On another note we will be Harvesting Oranges for one of the many Food Pantries

that support us. There are over 50 trees on Irvine Valley College in Orange California

a County that was known for its trees. L&F x10 will be Harvesting side by side with the

S.I.F.E team from Irvine Valley College.  S.I.F.E stands for ” Ahead for business. A

heart for the world” Last year together we Harvested 12 crates for a Food Pantry

that served 3,000 people.

Since the first post about L&F x10 gearing up to reach the Community with four

Organizations the demand for more food has risen since the word is out about

what we are doing. Many organizations give produce to the Community but we

have been blessed to also give meat, milk, eggs etc. as well which stretches more.

We are in the process of putting together informtion to approach meat

companies to ask for donations to give to the Community that are in need. This is

and will be an on going battle even if the economy gets better. We are ready to take on

the challenge of feeding the Community as we see there is no end to this cycle of

hunger any time soon.

  • 33% of kids in Orange County are at risk of hunger;
  • Almost a quarter of the county’s residents live in economic hardship (defined as living at 200% of the poverty level);
  • Over 43% of public school students receive free or reduced lunches;
  • Almost 9,000 homeless families and over 16,000 homeless children reside in the county, according to the last estimate.

We have a Baby…

Loaves And Fishes x10 was birthed after being pregnant for 13 years serving the

Community in Santa Ana,Garden Grove and Tustin all in California. The name it

once had during its pregnancy was called Resurrectionministry.llc which Ministered

to the Homeless and also to Hotel Families that were just one check away from

being Homeless themselves. Years later as we were in our 6 month of pregnacy we

began to reach apartment complexes through our Outreaches and Evangelical events.

8 months later hundreds of families and thousands of people were being reached

and then it happened our water broke and Loaves And Fishes x10 was birthed to reach

around the world sharing what we are doing now in the Community and we have just

begun. We have a great  Summer planned for the Community and all the volunteers

that are a part of this ministry that may want to help with our Community Events.

We are working on two major Outreaches this Summer and of course our

gleaning projects which will include many different Organizations,Businesses and

non-profits. If you live in the Orange area or down for vacation in California let us

know by contacting us at loavesandfishesx10@yhoo.com and we just might glean

together on 5 acres of Farm Land.

L&F Donates Strawberries to Graffiti clean up in Anaheim California.

Posted on 24 February 2012 by robertflournoy

This Saturday 25th  their will be over 60 teen age volunteers heading to Anaheim

California to work together to make the area looks nice by removing graffiti off

of walls and areas not suitable for it. L&F x10 has been asked to donate fruit

to this event to help support these young kids that will be spending  their time

on Saturday making the streets look nice and showing the Community some one

cares a bout them. This is the second time L&F x10 has been a part of this great act

of unselfishness that these young kids are displaying.

The Lord never stops amazing us.

Posted on 23 February 2012 by robertflournoy

It’s amazing how the Lord will supply Christian food pantries in need if they are serving

him and not themselves. Today as we dropped off 40 flats of Strawberries to one

of the Organization’s we like to support who had two flats left in the refrigeration

the Director said that he has been hoping to receive more Strawberries to give to

the families he serves each month… THE LORD NEVER STOPS AMAZING US… 🙂

We have been Blessed to be able to Donate Strawberries to our friends and

organizations we have developed relationships with that really have a love and

concern for the community and their well being. We will continue to Donate as

Donations come in to our present organizations and future partnerships.

We are inundated with Strawberries and loving it

Posted on 23 February 2012 by robertflournoy

Today we received 40 Flats of Strawberries from The Original Manassero Farms in

Irvine  a city that’s considered one of the safest cities in Orange County

California. Dan Manassero of The Original Manassero Farms has been Donating

various types of produce to the ministry to help support the Community since the

Summer of 2011. We have been Blessed here at the Ministry to be able to work with

the Manassero’s and in return it is our desire to be able to support them back.

We look forward to this Summer gleaning his fields for Food Pantries in Orange

County and we are sure the Organizations are as well. We expect this Summer to

be  Busy on Manassero Commercial Farm Land gleaning Green Beans and other

produce as we get more into the Summer.

Gleaning is the act of collecting leftover crops from farmers’ fields after they have been commercially harvested or on fields where it is not economically profitable to harvest. Some ancient cultures promoted gleaning as an early form of a welfare system.
