Saturday 23rd at 8:am over 17 volunteers came out to “The Original Manassero Farms”

in Tustin to glean corn on 1 acre of land. Volunteers came from Victory Outreach,

US Navy Recruiting District in San Diego, OC Autism and Maddison Elementary

in Santa Ana. Although it was very hot on that day volunteers didn’t seem to care

because they new why they were there. Heart of Compassion from Montebello

came down to volunteer and pick up the corn that was gleaned from the field.

Volunteers went in and out of the corn field like clock work as they walk in the field

stepping on old corn as well as picking fresh corn from the stalk. You could here

all the laughter and conversations going on in the fields as the youth and the adults

enjoy themselves stomping out hunger.

Baskets and baskets of fresh picked sweet white corn continued to flow from the

field that was donated by “The Original Manassero Farms” It seemed that there was

no end to the bounty of corn in the field and volunteers new that they were not going

to be able to get it all in two hours.

We have partnered with “The Original Manassero Farms” to help stomp out hunger

for over five years. Through the years we have been able to donate tens of thousands

of pounds of farm fresh produce to many organizations. We hope to continue to work with

Dan and Anne Manassero so that we can supply families with healthy great produce.
